Each year, Lakeside Memorial Park is proud to play host to a range of community, cultural and religious events and commemorations so that the communities around us can pay their respects to departed loved ones, as well as fulfil important cultural and religious obligations.
Lakeside Memorial Park hosts a monthly morning tea, in conjunction with the ITSOWEL Italian community organisation.
We are pleased to host this event each month, giving local residents a relaxed experience as they visit the memorial sites of their loved ones.
Each year Lakeside Memorial Park hosts an Italian Mass. This mass gives local Italian congregations an opportunity to pray for their loved ones in their language of origin.
All Souls’ Day is an important day on the Christian calendar, especially for Catholic families. On All Souls’ Day, we invite local parishes to attend the park for a special mass for the souls of the faithfully departed.
Masses are delivered in several languages, including Italian and Polish.
Sunday 11th November, commencing at 10.00am
Lakeside Memorial Park, in conjunction with the Wollongong RSL, has a well-established Remembrance Day event that has become a mainstay of Wollongong’s commemoration of the end of World War I.
Held at our Veterans Memorial, Lakeside Memorial Park uses the occasion to pay tribute to the men and women of every country who have served in wars across the twentieth century.
